The Nebraska Admirals Association Executive Board is made up of the
Fleet Admiral (Chairman), the Chief of Staff (Vice Chairman), the Finance Officer, the Public Affairs Officer, the Operations Officer (Liaison between Executive Board and Port committees), the Chief Yeoman (Recording Secretary), the Quartermaster (Supply Keeper), the Editor (Compiles articles and edit the quarterly newsletters.), the Scholarship Officer (Liaison between Executive Board and the Nebraska University Foundation), and the Historian. Webmaster, although not a board member, reports to the board, as well as, maintains the website. The NAA Executive Board is elected every two years during the annual meeting of members, unless a vacancy occurs. The NAA Executive Board meets four times a year, and these are unpaid positions.

Gloria is native Nebraskan, born and raised in Minden.
Associate in Business Degree from Kearney State College (now University of Nebraska at Kearney).
Married Dan on Nebraska Statehood Day (March 1) in 1968. One daughter, Michelle, in Omaha.

Gerald Decker's Bio
Gerald and his wife Mary have been married fifty-four years. They have two children -son and daughter-in law; daughter and son-in-law; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Gerald has a Doctor of Education degree. He has taught social studies, driver’s education, physical education, and he has coached sports. He has served as an elementary school principal, Title I director, elementary school consultant for the Nebraska State Department of Education and assistant professor in education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. His education career was thirty-seven years in length. He has served as the President of UNL Phi Delta Kappa, President of Region I Elementary Principals organization, President of Region 3 Elementary Principals organization, President of Nuckolls County Education Association, President of the Superior Kiwanis Club.
He received his first Admiralship from Governor Bob Kerry for being President of the Elementary Principals Region 1 organization and received a second Admiralship from Governor Ben Nelson for being declared the Outstanding Nebraska Elementary School Principal for the entire State of Nebraska.

Dan is a Native Nebraskan, born in Lexington; graduate of Kearney High School, attended University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He retired after 25 years as a journeyman brick mason, and joined his wife Gloria's State Farm Insurance agency in 1990 as licensed staff member.
Commissioned as Admiral in the Great Navy of Nebraska in 1990 for promoting travel to Nebraska by his French relatives, friends and foreign students; the ceremony took place in Torçay, France, as he walked the baguette instead of the Plank!

James Taylor recently retired as a Captain from the United States Navy, serving for more than 29 years as a surface warfare officer and public relations specialist. As the Chief for Public Affairs at United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Bellevue, Nebraska from 2000 to 2004, he served as principal advisor to three different four-star commanders on local, national and international matters pertaining to media relations, outreach, strategic planning and crisis communications. His previous sea-duty and some shore-duty assignments took him along points of the compass to locations north, south, east and west of the United States. Taylor served in Los Angeles as Navy Liaison to Hollywood Film and TV industry that included film and TV projects Top Gun, Star Trek IV, Hunt for the Red October, JAG, MacGyver, Magnum P.I. He served as a media relations officer during the Gulf War - Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Most recently, Taylor served in the office of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information, Plans and Strategy as a core team member in the development of the New Maritime Strategy for the sea services.
Taylor graduated from Oklahoma State University and began his career in teaching special education and coaching sports. Before joining the Navy, he pursued his graduate studies at Kansas State University publishing several studies on child and adolescent behavior.
Since transitioning from the Navy, Taylor has chosen to return to Omaha to put down roots in the community and utilize his talents in marketing and public relations, as well as functional areas of strategic planning and execution, scenario-based training, crisis response planning and media engagement, Department of Defense matters pertaining to cyberspace, pandemic, future technologies, corporate partnerships and homeland defense initiatives. He continues to hold a security clearance.
